P.A. police seize shotgun, ammunition

Jan 15, 2018 | 11:55 AM

Two people are facing charges after Prince Albert police officers located a shotgun, shells and open alcohol while searching a vehicle Sunday night.

Police officers spotted a parked, running vehicle in the 800-block of 12th St. W. shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday. Although there was nobody in the driver’s seat, officers spoke with the occupants of the vehicle and confiscated an open bottle of liquor. While searching the vehicle for any more open containers, the officers discovered a 12-gauge shotgun and shells in a duffel bag, leading them to arrest all of the occupants.

A 26-year-old female suspect from Prince Albert is charged with obstruction of a peace officer and being unlawfully at large on an undertaking, which included a curfew clause. A 30-year-old male suspect was charged with two counts of breaching probation. Both suspects made their first court appearances this morning, a police spokesperson said.

During the weekend, P.A. officers responded to 204 calls, and made 34 arrests.
