Several Sask. communities lose heat after natural gas outage

Jan 10, 2018 | 10:40 AM

A ruptured gas line left many people in the province without heat Wednesday morning.

SaskEnergy  spokesperson Dave Burdeniuk said the rupture occurred on a pipeline between Weldon and Birch Hills affecting customers in nearby Kinistino, St. Brieux, and Melfort.

Burdeniuk said gas pressure has dropped in the system resulting in some customers losing service.

Burdeniuk could not say how many customers are affected or how long before service will be restored.
