North Battlefords’ Team Silvernagle rink continues to cruise along at the Viterra Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The team is now 5-1 and tied at the top of the round-robin standings following two more wins on Thursday. The foursome needed only seven ends to down Stephanie Lawton 9-3 during the afternoon draw. In draw seven, the team outlasted Nancy Martin 6-3. Meadow Lake’s Dayna Demers plays second on the rink. She said everything is going the teams’ way.

“We had a really good day, we wanted to keep building on what we did yesterday,” she said. “We wanted to get the two wins to keep our position in the standings.”

Chantelle Eberle is the lone other rink with just one loss. Both rinks have clinched at least a playoff spot with two games remaining. The team will meet Amber Holland and Ashley Howard to close the preliminary round play. The two rinks have only combined for three wins in 13 games. Demers said the team can’t look past either opponent.
