The fireworks had barely stopped booming when Althea Lindsay Darlene Fietz entered the world at 12:16 a.m.
The healthy six-pound five-ounce girl is the first for Kaitlyn Schinold and her boyfriend Alex Fietz of Paddockwood, Sask.
The two were surrounded by family members at the Victoria Hospital as they received their gifts for having the first baby of 2018.
