Sports year in review: Boucher returns to winning worlds

Jan 1, 2018 | 7:00 AM

As 2017 draws to a close, paNOW is taking a look back on the biggest sports achievements of the year, selected by our sports reporter Jeff D’Andrea.

Janice Boucher’s return to the world’s winners circle gives her the top spot in paNOW’s Top 10 Sports Stories of 2017.

Back in 1995, Boucher was a world archery champion. Though she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease three years ago, Boucher didn’t let that stop her from remaining as the best in the world at a sport. This past July, Boucher won two gold medals at the 2017 World Para Reining International Championship in July to return to world victory.
