A big cheque will go a long way to helping familes in Saskatchewan.

On Tuesday, the Prince Albert Firefighters Charity presented representatives from Muscular Dystrophy Canada with a cheque for $10,000. A total of $5,000 was raised during their 2017 Rooftop Campout and an additional $5,000 was matched by Canadian Tire owner, Malcolm Jenkins.

Jeff Reeder, secretary of local 510 with the Prince Albert Fire Fighters Association, said he was impressed by the community at large.

“It was a very good response, both from the public as well as Malcolm Jenkins, matching our fundraising efforts and help benefit the community,” he said.
