Fladager to retire as Chamber of Commerce CEO

Dec 4, 2017 | 1:00 PM

A long-time member of Prince Albert’s business community has decided to call it a career.

Larry Fladager, CEO of the Prince Albert and District Chamber of Commerce, will retire from his position by the end of the year.

“After about 39 years since I graduated from university, I just decided enough is enough and I’m going to retire and take life easy,” he said.

Fladager was hired as CEO in April of 2015. Prior to, he served as both a chamber board director and chair.

Reflecting back on the past two years, Fladager said he has worked hard to help streamline the chamber’s operations. He is also proud of his work building the image of the chamber as an organization that supports local business.

Fladager said his favourite part of the job was working with people.

“[I enjoyed] all the events that we held and all the fun parts of those things are really rewarding for me,” he said.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Fladager said the most challenging part of the job was definitely building membership.

The recruitment process to fill his job has already begun. Meghan Mayer, the current chair of the Chamber of Commerce board of directors, told paNOW the group hoped to make an announcement in January.
