Marauders girls win 5A volleyball provincials

The St. Mary Marauders girls won the gold at the SHSAA 5A Provincials Girls Volleyball Championships Saturday in Melfort.

The Marauders squeaked through a three-set thriller over Saskatoon Bishop Mahoney in the finals to win the tournament. After dropping the first set 25-22, the Marauders came back with a 25-20 win in the second set, before a 17-15 finish in the third.

The Carlton Crusaders finished in fourth, losing to Saskatoon St. Joseph in the bronze medal match in two sets.

In the boys draw in Meadow Lake, the St. Mary Marauders were outed in the semifinals.
