P.A. parades into penalty box in Portland

Nov 12, 2017 | 8:54 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders (8-6-3) ran into some serious penalty trouble in the third period at the Moda Center against the Portland Winterhawks (14-3).

In just the third period alone, the Winterhawks scored four power play goals, all of them with a two-man advantage.

The Raiders were basically shorthanded for the entire third period, surrendering 10 total power plays in the final frame alone. Two of those were unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, one against head coach Marc Habscheid and another against forward D-Jay Jerome after taking a hooking penalty.

It was a manageable 2-1 game heading into the third period before the P.A. penalty box parade. Jordy Stallard scored in the first period, extending his point scoring streak to 11 games (11 goals, nine assists in that span).
