Practicum students learn all facets of policing profession

The Police Albert Police Service has a few extra hands at their disposal. 

They are hosting three practicum students from the Gabriel Dumont Institute justice studies program. 

Staff Sergeant Frank Borsos said they were delighted to offer the opportunity.

“Part of the Gabriel Dumont program is a practicum and so they approached PAPS wondering if we’d take on these students,” he said. “Of course we agreed with open arms because it’s a great program.”

Recently the students were given experience in the bylaw department and graffiti clean-up but Borsos said they would be given opportunities in many different aspects of the job.

“We’ve tried to give them a good coverage of the entire Prince Albert Police Service organization so they see all facets of the profession.”

The practicum runs for thirteen weeks.
