Hypothermic man, collisions fill paramedics weekend

A number of motor vehicle collisions alongside local staff helping a male in cardiac arrest topped the weekend for Parkland Ambulance who responded to 62 calls.

Saturday, a 27-year-old male with serious injuries was taken to the Royal University Hospital where he remains in serious condition after a two-vehicle collision 2 kilometres west of Meath Park that night.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 11:20 p.m. A 24-year-old male was also taken to hospital in stable condition. Two other males, aged 20 and 23, were not injured in the incident.

Friday, around 9:30 p.m., paramedics responded to a car versus pedestrian incident in the 1200 block of 18th St. West. A 38-year-old male was taken to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon in stable condition for further care.
