Kinistino man charged with drug and weapons offences

A Kinistino man is facing numerous criminal charges after Melfort RCMP executed three search warrants last month.

As a result of the RCMP’s Sept. 28 warrant searches, 46-year-old Robert Sauter was charged. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a restricted firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, breach of undertaking and resisting arrest.

RCMP said the investigation is still ongoing, and Sauter is currently in custody pending a bail hearing in Melfort Provincial Court.

None of the charges against Sauter have been tested before the courts.
