Raiders swap for Sottile

Sep 19, 2017 | 5:00 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired winger Brock Sottile from the Spokane Chiefs in exchange for a conditional draft pick.

Sottile played with the Calgary Mustangs in the Alberta Junior Hockey League last season, registering nine points in 34 games. Raiders General Manager Curtis Hunt said the Calgary native will bring a needed element to the team.

“He plays with a bit of grit and bite, and after watching the pre-season I thought we needed a little more pace in our game, I thought we needed a little more edge in our game,” Hunt said. “I think Brock can provide that for us and maybe create a little more room for his line mates.”

The Raiders open the regular season on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre.
