Man killed in hunting incident

Police have confirmed a man is dead after a hunting incident near Weirdale.

On Sept. 16 shortly after 8 p.m., Nipawin RCMP responded to a complaint of an injured man in a rural field 10 kilometers south of Weirdale.

An investigation has revealed two males, aged 23 and 22, both from Prince Albert, were hunting separately and apart from each other roughly a half hour before police were called. The two males were not known to each other.

The 23-year-old was found deceased with an apparent gunshot wound. The incident was reported to police by the 22-year-old who remained at the scene.
