Sep 15, 2017 | 1:22 PM

The Prince Albert Fire Department responded to a call about a clothes dryer which caught on fire this morning.

On Sept. 15, firefighters responded to a call on the 200 block of 11th St. E for a possible structure fire. Upon arrival crews found a clothes dryer which caught on fire.

The fire was knocked down quickly and contained to the appliance. Minor damages were reported to the housing unit.

To prevent dryer fires from occurring, staff with the Prince Albert Fire Department recommended cleaning lint filter of dryers after each load of laundry. Although this will mitigate risks, it is advised to ensure no lint has fallen into the dryer vent.
