The provincial archives are a treasure trove of information but it can be a daunting task to sift through.

As such, archivist Christine Charmbury is offering a public presentation in Prince Albert Tuesday evening on how to find and access records for research.

Nancy Carswell is a member of the Prince Albert Genealogy Society, which is hosting the event.

“I want not just to collect the names of my ancestors but I want to tell the stories of my ancestors,” Carswell said. “These resources that she [Charmbury] is going to teach me about will give me a better opportunity to do that.”

The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan offer an abundance of resources for genealogists, Carswell said.

“It’s amazing the traces you can find of your ancestors but also just putting them into context,” said Carswell.

The presentation goes at 7 p.m. this evening in the Lion’s Room underneath the P.A. Exhibition Grand Stand.
