Inmate found dead at Regina jail

A man was found dead at the Regina Correctional Centre Wednesday morning, according to the Ministry of Justice.

The ministry said the man, who was there on remand, was found unresponsive in his cell and was pronounced dead around 9 a.m.

The province said police are investigating, while the ministry conducts an internal investigation. There will also be a review by the provincial coroner’s office.
