Ruckus outside police detachment leads to arrest; confiscated BB gun

Aug 22, 2017 | 2:09 PM

Two teenagers are facing numerous charges including assaulting a police officer and possession of a dangerous weapon following an incident Monday night.

Just after 10 p.m., officers heard yelling outside of police headquarters. When they went to investigate, a man ran towards police and stated “he has a knife.” Officers approached two other men, but one of them fled and was seen throwing something while running away. He was eventually arrested and police dog Daxa found a black handgun style BB gun.

The second suspect began walking towards police and ignored commands to stop and get on the ground. When police withdrew their Tasers, the suspect surrendered.

Two teenage boys, a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old were scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court Tuesday.
