A Prince Albert roofing company pled guilty to occupational health and safety violations.

Roger Lajeunesse, operating as Windel’s Roofing, was fined in Provincial Court, Aug. 16. He pled guilty to failing to ensure workers wore approved industrial headwear, and to use a fall protection system at a work area where a worker may fall three metres or more.

Lajeunesse was fined $1,000 plus a surcharge of $400 for each offence, totalling $2,800.

Charges were laid after an Occupational Health Officer observed workers not using fall protection or personal protective equipment during a worksite inspection on May 2. Fortunately no one was injured.
