Officer assaulted during weekend arrest

An officer was attacked over the weekend when responding to a call of an attempted sexual assault.

Early Saturday morning, Prince Albert police were dispatched to a hotel in the 3600 block of Second Ave. W. disturbance call and attempted sexual assault.

The male suspect physically assaulted the arresting officer, but was brought under control by officers and arrested.

A 34-year-old man from Black Lake is facing one charge of unlawful confinement, choking an officer, assaulting an officer, and failing to comply with a condition of undertaking. The sexual assault investigation is currently ongoing.
