Wisconsin man fined for poaching near Spiritwood
An 80-year-old Wisconsin man has been fined $4,200 after pleading guilty to hunting violations in Spiritwood Provincial Court.
Along with the fine, Willard Niessner is not allowed to apply for a big game licence in the province for two years.
In November 2016, Niessner was charged and fined for hunting without a valid licence. He was barred from applying for a big game, game bird or trapping licence in the province for one year.
A few weeks later, officers determined the accused had used an outfitter to hunt white-tailed deer near Spiritwood.
