New Brunswick pay-for-plasma clinic opens, aims for 1,000 weekly donors
MONCTON, N.B. — The head of a company that pays people to donate blood plasma says he’s hoping to get at least 1,000 donors a week at a newly opened clinic in New Brunswick.
Canadian Plasma Resources CEO Barzin Bahardoust said he’s confident they can reach that target within two years at the clinic in Moncton, which opened last Monday.
“We can achieve our target of 1,000 donations per week with a donor base of approximately 2,500 people. People can donate as often as once a week but we don’t expect everyone to do that,” he said.
Bahardoust said he expects most will donate every couple of weeks, or about 20 times a year.
