Update: The severe thunderstorm watch for the area has ended.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the Prince Albert, Shellbrook, Spiritwood, Duck Lake, La Ronge, Pelican Narrows and Cumberland House areas.

Meteorologists say conditions are favourable for the development of a thunderstorm that could produce damaging winds, hail and heavy rain.

Environment Canada says a cold front could trigger thunderstorms as it tracks through an unstable airmass over the province this afternoon.
