Missing man now charged with firearms offences

An first reported missing, has now been charged by police.

Melfort RCMP have charged 36-year-old Preston Croswell with multiple firearm related offences including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a restricted weapon without authorization. 

Croswell was arrested yesterday morning roughly 20 km north of Kinistino. He remains in custody until his next court appearance on July 18 in Melfort.

Croswell was first reported missing after he left his Weldon home July 8 on an ATV carrying a handgun. Police described him as ‘distraught.” He was found safe July 11.
