Tornado warning issued for Spiritwood, Leoville area

Environment Canada has issued a tornado warning for the area.

The national weather service is tracking a severe thunderstorm moving towards the Spiritwood and Leoville areas that could possibly produce a tornado. It says damaging winds and locally intense rainfall are also possible. Hail up to the size of baseballs and torrential rain could also be likely.

The storm is 20 kilometres west of Spiritwood near Belbutte and is moving east at 20 km/h. 

The thunderstorm watch remains in effect for Prince Albert.
