Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for area

Jul 3, 2017 | 10:55 AM

Prince Albert and area residents should keep an eye on the sky today as a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect.

According to Environment Canada, the city of Prince Albert, communities of Shellbrook, Spiritwood and Duck Lake, as well as numerous regions to the west and north are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

The national weather agency says thunderstorms are developing along a cold front that is now at the Alberta border and is tracking eastward across central and Saskatchewan this afternoon and evening.

To report severe weather, send an email to ec.storm.ec@canada.ca or tweet reports using #SKStorm.
