Speedy Internet access is coming to Indigenous communities across Saskatchewan in 2017 and 2018.

SaskTel announced plans to upgrade high speed services in 46 communities as part of planned upgrades taking place between 2016 and 2021.

“SaskTel understands that Indigenous and First Nations people of our province play an integral role in the success of Saskatchewan,” Ron Styles, president and CEO of SaskTel said.

Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations Chief Bobby Cameron said access to high-speed internet contributes to economic successes of Indigenous youth living on reserves or remote communities.
