Three players with local connections were invited to the Hockey Canada Under-17 Development Camp starting on July 22.

Prince Albert’s Braden Schneider, as well as fellow Prince Albert Minto standout Logan Barlage and Prince Albert Raiders top prospect Rhett Rhinehart will get good looks from Hockey Canada brass this summer.

Schneider was drafted 12th overall in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft by the Brandon Wheat Kings, one pick ahead of his hometown Raiders. The Raiders then selected Rhinehart 13th overall.

Barlage, the fourth overall pick in 2016, won the League MVP, Top Forward, Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Star in the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League awards.
