Brown wins her 2nd straight Ladies Northern

Jun 4, 2017 | 5:30 PM

Kim Brown is now the back-to-back champion on the Ladies Northern at Cooke Municipal Golf Course.

After her 2016 victory, Brown returned this weekend and beat the field by four strokes with a two-day total of 156.

Although she is now living at Saskatoon, she knows all about the Cooke course. Not only did she play on it tons as a youngster growing up in Prince Albert, but even was an employee for the course as well at one point.

“I grew up at this golf course,” Brown said. “I’ve been playing out here since I was 12 years old. I love coming back here, it’s sort of like being at home.

“This is a first class golf course for Saskatchewan and you can’t get much better than this.”

The tournament committee did not separate the Ladies and the Senior Ladies divisions like they have in the past, but instead named the lowest score among Seniors after the tournament’s completion. Ann Kirkland earned that distinction after her two-day performance of 169.

Here are the rest of the top finishes in each flight.
