May 31, 2017 | 4:02 PM

A Tisdale man is facing drug and assault charges after an incident Monday evening.

Sgt. Daryl Andrusiak of the Tisdale RCMP detachment said members were called to a Tisdale home after an altercation between two men turned violent. One of the men fled and reported the altercation to police.

When RCMP arrived on the scene to arrest the alleged perpetrator, Andrusiak said they also found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the home. This led the officers to perform a search under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and charge their suspect with growing pot.

Richard Syrenne, 34, was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, forcible confinement, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, and production of marijuana.
