Hague school evacuations tied to Alexa Emerson case: residents

Apr 27, 2017 | 6:54 AM

Recent threats to Hague Elementary School could be related to the white powder and bomb scares in Saskatoon.

The school has been evacuated twice in the last month according to a spokesperson from the Prairie Spirit School division.

A white powder envelope was delivered March 17, while a bomb threat emptied the school Monday.

Multiple people from Hague, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the threats are linked to Alexa Emerson, the woman facing 69 charges for more than a dozen incidents in Saskatoon.

They said Emerson has an ex-boyfriend with ties to the town northeast of Saskatoon.

In 2015, Emerson, who went by Amanda Totchek at the time, was convicted of a harassment campaign against an ex-boyfriend.

The 31-year-old has been in custody since turning herself in on April 11. Since then, five bomb threats have been emailed to businesses and Aden Bowman Collegiate Institute that police believe are related to her case.

Investigators said they’re not seeking a second suspect, but are still looking for a woman who sent a video to local media alleging her own involvement.
