Province to launch 2017 park reservations

Summer is fast approaching and a sign of just that is the province is readying to open reservations for its parks.
The provincial park campsite reservation system will launch for the 2017 summer season April 4.
As in previous years, the launch will be staggered, with reservations for different parks opening over a 10-day period.
A queuing system will also be implemented once again.
Reservations will launch at 7 a.m. each day, with the queue opening at 6:40 a.m. At 7 a.m., those waiting will be placed in the queue at random. The province said they’ll then enter the reservation website in staggered batches. Anyone joining after 7 a.m. will go to the end of the line.
Parks will launch on this schedule:
- April 4 – Blackstrap, Pike Lake
- April 5 – Buffalo Pound, Danielson, Douglas
- April 6 – Echo Valley, Rowan’s Ravine
- April 7 – Duck Mountain, Good Spirit Lake, Greenwater Lake
- April 8 – Crooked Lake, Moose Mountain
- April 9 – Cypress Hills
- April 10 – The Battlefords, Saskatchewan Landing
- April 11 – Meadow Lake
- April 12 – Bronson Forest, Chitek Lake, Lac La Ronge, Makwa Lake
- April 13 – Candle Lake, Great Blue Heron, Narrow Hills
Online reservations are being offered at six parks past the Labour Day long weekend. Blackstrap, Buffalo Pound, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Moose Mountain and Rowan’s Ravine campgrounds can be booked until the third week of September, or later.
The province said Saskatchewan’s provincial parks are celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary by offering free entry to all provincial parks on Canada Day and Canada’s Parks Day on July 15. There will also be special events throughout the parks, including a province-wide geocaching program and a scavenger hunt. More details on those programs will be announced later this spring.
