Lash Lounge performs random acts of pampering

Mar 19, 2017 | 8:00 AM

A Prince Albert aesthetics studio has started celebrating their success by spreading kindness in the community. Erin Nicole, owner of Fringe Lash Lounge, said the studio has given away a full-day pampering package to a deserving recipient each month since December.

In addition to lashes and make-up, Nicole said those chosen to receive a package are given hairstyling by Novus Salon, an organic tan from Organic Tan & SunnaSmile Prince Albert, a latte and gift certificate from The Bison Café and a one-on-one yoga session provided by Tapestry Yoga. Janna Gobeil Photography also snaps a portrait of each winner, Nicole said, which is theirs to keep.

“With it being our third year in our commercial location and our sixth year in business, we really just want to say thank you to the community,” Nicole said. “I want bring light to the profound effect spreading kindness and positivity can have on others. No matter how big or how small an act of kindness is, it really can make a huge impact on another’s life.”

Nicole said the winners are chosen either because of contributions they have made to their community, or because they have recently experienced personal struggles or hardships. Sometimes the phone calls to inform the winners can be emotional, Nicole said, but that’s the effect random kindness often has.

The ultimate goal of the random acts, Nicole said, is to create ripple effects of generosity that spread out and touch the entire community. To help make that happen, Nicole said she asked their winners to pass on a little kindness as well.

“One part of our campaign is encouraging each winner to pay it forward after; basically to extend an act of kindness on to someone else,” Nicole said.

Nicole said thanks to the positive feedback they’ve received, she and her staff have no plans to stop the monthly acts of kindness any time soon.

“The goal was to do this for an entire year,” she said. “I just know at the end of the year we’re not going to want to stop.”

Anyone wishing to nominate a deserving recipient or contribute to the pampering packages with a donation can contact Fringe Lash Lounge.
