Weekend wrap for Bears, Mintos and Titans

The Prince Albert Northern Bears got a split against the Melville Prairie Fire in a two-game set on the road this weekend.

The Bears were shutout 3-0 on Sunday, after a 2-0 victory on Saturday.

Bears goaltender Ryan Fontaine made 22 saves for the shutout on Saturday, her third of the season.

Camryn Amundson and Miranda Heidt each scored for the Bears in the first period.

Pat Canadians 6 Mintos 1

On Saturday, the Prince Albert Mintos were in tough against the Regina Pat Canadians, falling 6-1 at the Art Hauser Centre in Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Pat Canadians led 3-0 after the first period. Prince Albert Raiders prospect Eric Pearce scored a goal for the Regina side.

Cael Zimmerman scored the lone goal for the Mintos.

Rage 4 Titans 2

The Prince Albert Titans gave up four unanswered goals in the third period to fall to the West Central Rage in Prairie Junior Hockey League action.

The Titans led 2-0 after the first period, before the Rage took over the third period.

The Rage outshot the Titans 28-3 in the final frame.
