Hobson helps move Team Canada closer to gold

Jan 13, 2017 | 1:00 PM

Prince Albert’s Brooke Hobson played a big role in Team Canada’s semi-final win over Sweden Friday at the U18 women’s world hockey championship in the Czech Republic.

Hobson’s wrist shot in the first period got the Canadian squad on the board.

Team Canada would go to win 6-2.

They will now face the United States in the gold medal game on Saturday.

The two teams met last year in the finals, where the United States won 3-2 in overtime.

Russia will play Sweden in the bronze medal game.
