16-year-old dies in head-on SUV collision

Prince Albert RCMP said a 16-year-old girl has died as a result of an incident yesterday on Highway 3.

A preliminary investigation has concluded a westbound SUV and an eastbound SUV collided head-on near Whitfield Rd. west of P.A. A third truck, travelling eastbound, collided with the vehicles.

The driver of the westbound SUV, a 16-year-old female from Prince Albert was pronounced deceased at the scene. Family was notified and her name will not be released at this time.

The two occupants of the eastbound SUV were transported to hospital in P.A. and are reported to be in stable condition. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP said alcohol was not considered a factor.
