RCMP advising no highway travel

Jan 11, 2017 | 9:00 PM

The RCMP is advising motorists not to travel tonight.

Whiteout conditions exist over most of the province’s roadways due to the wind and blowing snow.

A number of motorists are reported to be in ditches already due to the conditions.

Anyone who has hit the ditch, is encouraged to call 411 to locate a tow truck in their area.

Ensure you keep the tailpipe of your vehicle clear, keep the vehicle running and stay warm. Stay with your vehicle and wait for the tow truck. If you have decided to pull over for now, please pull to the far right of the shoulder or on an approach.

Again, whiteout conditions exist over most of Saskatchewan. Stay home, travel is not recommended.
