Beyond Beauty Treatments

A refreshed and rejuvenated reflection is one of the happy results offered to clients of North Country Massage and Medi Spa in Prince Albert.

The spa has recently introduced botox and dermal filler facial treatments.

“I am my own best customer,” says Bernadette Lavoie, attesting to the results and safety of the botox procedure. Lavoie co-owns the spa with Registered Nurse Lindsay Rask, a facial aesthetics specialist who trained at the Canadian Laser and Medical Aesthetic Centre.

“We are offering longer lasting results that go beyond just beauty treatments,” explains Lavoie. “That is why we offer a range of therapies that provide physical and mental health benefits.  Our services cater to people from all walks of life, and we have medical experts for consultation and administration of the most current treatments available.”

Lavoie and Rask have assembled a team of fully certified professionals to provide the many services available at North Country. The result is a lifestyle spa, featuring overall wellness therapies.

Local physician Dr. Chris de Villiers, also a facial aesthetics specialist, administers botox facial treatments together with team member and wife, Brigitt de Villiers. They trained at the Pacific Training Institute for Facial Aesthetics.

“Botox is a natural, purified protein that produces a smooth, improved and younger looking appearance,” explains Dr. de Villiers. “The results of the botox treatment usually occur within 3-5 days, and the effects will last up to 4 months. There is minimal downtime after your treatment, meaning you can get back to your day faster.”

The most common areas treated are frown lines between the eyebrows, and ‘crows’ feet’ around the eyes.

“North Country staff are trained to produce natural, younger looking results,” says Dr. de Villiers. “The biggest benefit is how our clients feel after their treatment. People are rejuvenated, with a huge confidence boost.”

The procedure is quick and simple, and can be repeated every 3-4 months. New clients take a maximum of one hour for a complete consultation and treatment. Both Dr. de Villiers and Rask provide pre and post procedure consultation, answering questions about the process

Evidence shows that the treatments can actually prevent facial lines from forming*. Many people begin treatment relatively early in life to take advantage of this benefit.

Patient cost is less than most people expect, especially when compared to using high end facial creams daily. Those products also come with allergy concerns, without the benefit of fully qualified medical professionals to monitor them.

Considering the long term gain and profession consultation, the financial consideration of a botox treatment becomes very affordable. In fact for a limited time beginning November 2016, an introductory rate of $99 is being offered.

Since being established in 2005, professionalism has become the hallmark of Lavoie and Rask’s business, which boasts a long list of happy customers on their Facebook page.

“We are so very excited to add this service to our other aesthetic therapies,” says Lavoie. “With family gatherings and Christmas parties coming up, a botox treatment can help you feel more youthful and confident at these events.”
