QUEBEC — Crown officials in Quebec will announce Friday whether they are laying charges against provincial police in the alleged sexual abuse of indigenous women.

Prosecutors said Monday they have finished analyzing 37 files they received from Montreal police, which investigated the alleged abuse.

Complainants in the case will be informed ahead of time of the Crown’s decision.

The alleged abuse occurred in Val-d’Or, 530 kilometres northwest of Montreal.
