Nov 3, 2016 | 5:01 PM

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Thursday afternoon they have signed 28-year-old wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt to a two-year contract extension.

Roosevelt is in his second season with Riders and currently sits eighth in CFL receiving yards with 1,905. However, he has only played in 11 games due to injury, and his 99.5 receiving yards per-game rank second in the league, only trailing Eskimos Adarius Bowman, who has 103.5 receiving yards per game.

At 3:25 p.m. Thursday, Roosevelt tweeted out “God is good.. glad to be back #ridernation.”

“I’m just excited. I wanted to be back,” Roosevelt said. “I’m glad they gave me an opportunity to come back. I just want to make plays for this team and get us on a winning track.”

Roosevelt earned a nomination as the Riders’ most outstanding player and was named a CFL top performer for week five after registering 182 receiving yards in a 30-29 win over Ottawa.

The Buffalo native spent parts of five seasons in the NFL.

Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
