Riders trade Fulton and Capicciotti

Oct 11, 2016 | 7:11 AM

The Saskatchewan Roughriders weren’t sitting idle over the holiday weekend, they made a few trades instead.

National defensive lineman, Justin Capicciotti, and international offensive lineman, Xavier Fulton, were traded to the Hamilton Tiger-cats on Monday.

In exchange, the Riders got national defensive lineman, Linden Gaydosh, and international wide receiver, Tommy Streeter, as well as fourth and seventh round picks for the coming 2017 draft.

Fulton has been with the Riders for five seasons, starting all 75 games he played, and was with the Riders when they won the Grey Cup in 2013.

Capicciotti signed with the Riders as a free agent in February. He played 14 games with eight starts, registering 24 defensive tackles and two quarterback sacks.

Gaydosh was a first-round overall pick for the Ti-Cats in 2013. He signed with the Carolina Panthers in May 2013 but joined the Ti-Cats during the 2014 season. He’s played 10 CFL games so far, with two tackles and a pass knockdown.

Streeter has yet to play a game in the CFL despite signing with the Ti-Cats in August. He was picked by the Baltimore Ravens in the 2012 NFL draft and has since spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
