The man accused of using a pool cue to attack a former Prince Albert resident, is now facing a charge of manslaughter.

Justin Leslie Bird was originally charged with aggravated assault and possession of a controlled substance.

Zack Straughan, who grew up in Prince Albert, but most recently living in Saskatoon, was beat unconscious at a bowling alley in Winkler, Manitoba last Saturday. He was declared brain dead the following Monday.

The attack allegedly started over a $16 debt.
