Test show water not yet suitable for drinking at new Regina stadium

REGINA — The city of Regina says tests show the water at Roughriders’ new stadium isn’t suitable for drinking yet.

Mayor Michael Fougere says water samples taken from Mosaic Stadium have been sent for testing and results will come back by Friday.

Fougere says the city has a back-up plan to deal with the issue and it shouldn’t discourage people from coming to Saturday’s game.

Kim Onrait, executive director of city services, says gravel and stones were found in the water pipes when they were flushed.
