Teachers are preparing to head back to their classrooms tomorrow after walking away for one day to back demands for a contract.
It could be the nice weather or something more, but the many hundreds who attended a closed meeting at the Prince Albert Exhibition grounds today left smiling.
The meeting in Prince Albert was one of many across the province today including more than 2,000 Saskatchewan teachers who rallied at the legislature in Regina.
That demonstration inspired talk during question period.
Education Minister Donna Harpauer defended the province's offer of a 5.5 per cent wage increase over three years. She said she feels it's the only reasonable offer from either side.
NDP leader Dwain Lingenfelter said he doesn't necessarily agree with the 12 per cent increase in one year that the teachers are requesting but he insisted the province could do better then what is offered.
