Power knocked out north-west of Prince Albert

Oct 19, 2010 | 3:43 PM

A large power outage is affecting hundreds of homes north-west of Prince Albert Tuesday.

The electricity was cut around 2 p.m. to Shellbrook, Debden and Big River when a transmission line was hit by a tree.

“A man was cutting a tree and the wind caught the tree. The tree hit the line and took one of our power poles down,” said James Parker a spokesmen with SaskPower.

SaskPower crews are assessing the situation and working toward restoring service as soon as possible.
