Sask. police buckle down on speeding in work zones
Saskatchewan law enforcement were busy in July handing out hundreds of tickets for speeding, aggressive driving and other infractions during a monthly traffic safety blitz.
According to numbers provided by SGI Thursday, 113 tickets were given to people travelling through work zones, with 110 of those involving speeding.
More than 100 tickets were issued for exceeding 60 km/h while passing highway workers or occupied highway equipment within a work zone.
Police fined six people for speeding in orange zones where a flag person was present, and handed out three tickets for failing to obey the direction of a flag person or peace officer.
