Flooding issues on Highway 3, west of Shellbrook, may soon be a thing of the past.
A construction project starting next week will see a 1.2 km stretch of the provincial highway raised by nearly one metre.
The work is scheduled to wrap up in early summer, 2017, and cost roughly $3-million.
Building this section of road higher than the adjacent slough is also expected to reduce maintenance costs, according to the Ministry of Highways.
