P.A. water restrictions fully lifted

Aug 24, 2016 | 1:58 PM

Prince Albert home owners will no longer have to look at the calendar first before watering their garden.

The city has now lifted all water restrictions from residential households.

Residents were placed on a full water restriction and then transitioned to a partial water restriction following the Husky oil spill a month ago.

The oil spill led to the city urging for water conservation from businesses and residents while it brought alternative water solutions on board.

According to a news release issued Wednesday, the city is now “confident” it has ample water to supply Prince Albert from its two temporary water pipelines producing sufficient flow.

The following restrictions on residents are now lifted:

  • outdoor irrigation
  • washing of sidewalks, driveways, tennis courts, patios, and other paved areas
  • watering of lawns and gardens
  •  washing of automobiles, trucks, trailers, and other vehicles
  • filling of private swimming pools, hot tubs, fountain spas, or other outdoor water features

Commercial restrictions on businesses were lifted by the city earlier this month.
