Saskatchewan man mauled by bear, lives to tell story
A walk to his aunt’s house to get some cigarettes, nearly cost a man his life Tuesday morning.
Shortly after midnight, Charlie Stewart was walking along a path on the reserve south of Cumberland House.
All of a sudden he said he could feel something watching him. Moments later, a large black bear emerged from the bush.
“It was about five times bigger than me, it was a big black ball of teeth and darkness. The only way I could see it was because it was darker than everything else around,” Stewart said.
