Calgary murder trial of parents in diabetic teen death to resume next month
CALGARY — A murder trial for parents of a teenaged boy who died of starvation and complications from untreated diabetes three years ago will resume next month.
Emil Radita, 59, and his 54-year-old wife Rodica Radita are charged with first degree murder in the 2013 death of their 15-year-old son.
The trial, which began at the beginning of June, was adjourned over the summer and will now continue Sept. 12.
Alexandru Radita — who was one of eight children — weighed just 37 pounds, was wearing a diaper and had ulcers all over his body when he died.
